My major research interests are in cell signaling. My current area of research is in finding the topology of mNat-3, an amino acid transporter. Amino acid transport across the plasma membrane provides critical substrates for protein biosynthesis, hormone metabolism, regulation of cell growth, and production of metabolic energy. Defective amino acid transport systems are known to be involved in several diseases. Topological studies help us in finding the structure - function relationship which can show a path in curing diseases. I did my Post graduation in Biotechnology from Pune University (India) and Bachelors in Microbiology from Osmania University (India).
