Biochemistry Employment Opportunities

Postdoctoral Positions:

A post-doctoral opportunity is available immediately at the Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSCSA).

Our laboratory is primarily interested in deciphering the molecular basis of hematological malignancies (see Blood 102:3871-9, 2003 and Blood 105:308-16, 2005 for recent representative publications). Detailed functional characterization of these genetic abnormalities will be geared towards the development of novel targeted therapeutic strategies. The lab is an integral part of the San Antonio Cancer Institute (SACI), a NCI-designated Cancer Center, and we have free access to state-of-the-art core resources and clinical facilities.

Candidates (MD and/or PhD) must have solid experience with contemporary techniques in molecular & cellular biology, preferably with emphasis in signal transduction. Expertise with flow cytometry and standard bioinformatics approaches is a major plus. Suitable candidates must also have excellent organizational and communication skills and should be enthusiastic about their work.

Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae and a list of at least three references to: Ricardo Aguiar, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in Medicine, The University of Texas Health Center at San Antonio, e-mail: aguiarr@uthscsa.edu

All postdoctoral fellow appointments are designated as security sensitive positions. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Texas is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
